Fasting on Mondays & Thursdays

If you’ve never fasted on a Monday or Thursday and wonder why some people do, here is what Prophet Muhammad PBUH said about that:

"Deeds of people are presented (to Allah) on Mondays and Thursdays. So I like that my actions be presented while I am fasting.”

It is also said that he used to fast on those days because the first was the day he was born and the second was the day he had revelation. To support this argument. This is the hadith that was reported to have been said by our prophet (PBUH): “That is the day on which I was born and the day on which I received Revelation.”

Therefore it is sunnah to fast on those particular days. :)

Whenever you feel tempted to commit a sin and you feel like you are losing, think to yourself: This is my Jihad and if I do not succumb to my whims, my Imaan will be levels higher.

Key to Heaven

Allah’s Messenger (salAllaahu ‘alayhi wassallam) said: Two words are light on the tongue, weigh heavily in the balance, and are loved by the Most Merciful One:

{Subhaanal-laahi wa bihamdihi, Subhaanal-laahil-‘Adheem}

Glorified is Allah and praised is He , Glorified is Allah the Most Great.
[Al-Bukhari 7/168, Muslim 4/2072]
